& Designer : Ms. Akiko Endo
Ms. Endo, a native of Japan and a New Yorker, and is a permanent resident in the US.
As a president of Portfolio 1 LLC, founded in 2007, New York based Ms. Endo works at a creating new business concepts. She sets goals which focus on new life style concepts including nature and adopting socially conscious issue which are essential to her. She is fueling her long career experiences into her present business.
1971: Her career began as a fashion designer in Tokyo Japan.
1974: She established fashion planning office in Tokyo, in corporation with Mitsui & Co., Ltd & Sumitomo Co., Ltd.
1982: Moved to New York.
1982- 2001: Representative of Tokyu Department Store, assisting Tokyu Group.
Supported merchandising plan, developed new business format for main store in Tokyo. Brought overseas brand & store into the Japanese market. Through these actual experiences of diversified business development, she enhanced her career.
1994: Founded Design Five Inc in New York. Design & Marketing Company and service for development of new business ideas, creating brand and fashion trend information service.
2001: She survived 9.11 tragedy at WTC close to her apartment. After the tragedy, her destiny changed. She devoted her experiences into development work of a scent and creating marketing concepts, frequent travel between the US and Asian countries and developed philanthropic programs, supporting children’s & women’s right.
2007: Founded her signature brand “ La Lumpini ” which is a line of personal care products supporting and enriching women’s everyday lives, launched in the Japanese market.
